Originally from Glastonbury, Connecticut, Dr. McAndrews joined Colts Head Veterinary Services in 2010 after completing an internship at Southwest Equine Medical and Surgical Center, a general and referral practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her professional interests include internal and preventive medicine, dentistry, and lameness.
Driven by a life-long desire to be an equine veterinarian, Dr. McAndrews attended Michigan State University, completing a bachelor’s degree in animal science before graduating with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Her extensive background in horses includes eventing, as well as managing and training horses for a thoroughbred racehorse rescue group.
Dr. McAndrews is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and American Veterinary Medical Association. A graduate of the United States Pony Clubs, she enjoys teaching local pony clubbers horse management skills.
In her free time, Dr. McAndrews enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, and experiencing the historical and cultural attractions throughout the Northeast. She is married with one neurotic cat.
