Laura Parisio, BVetMed, MRCVS
Dr. Parisio grew up in the Hudson Valley of New York State. When her wish for riding lessons was finally granted, she became involved in a variety of disciplines, particularly eventing and dressage. It was these early experiences that inspired her to pursue a career in equine veterinary medicine. After graduating from Alfred University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in equine studies, Dr. Parisio spent the following year working as a full time assistant for a busy equine practice. She was then accepted into the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London, England where she would receive her veterinary medical degree.

In her first year in practice, Dr. Parisio completed the internship program at Rhinebeck Equine LLP in New York. The opportunity to participate in a second internship the following year at The New Jersey Equine Clinic in Millstone Twp., gave her additional experience working in sport horse medicine and surgical care. Dr. Parisio joined Colts Head Veterinary Services in 2009. She enjoys the variety of general practice and is particularly interested in lameness, diagnostics, and young stock development.

A member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Dr. Parisio also belongs to the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Parisio loves to be outdoors, hiking and camping, as well as traveling, playing music and spending time with her family and friends. She is married with two cats.
